“The essays in this book are a tribute to his [Rui] seminal contribution towards Indian biblical theology and biblical interpretation. …. Through his writings, he continues to invite us to take interest in the issues of our times, engage with them in the light of the Scriptures, and read the Scriptures in the light of the problems that we face today.”

From the Preface

VOICES FROM BEYOND gratefully relates his [Rui] story - all that he had been to the institute, to a generation of students, and specially to the Church. It is indeed a great work, human and Christian.”

Dr Jerome Stanislaus D’ Souza, SJ
President, Jesuit Conference of South Asia

“In this collection of biblical essays in memory of Prof. Rui de Menezes, … the authors re-discover the person and vision of Rui; the prophetic nature of Rui’s own teaching, writing, and interpretation of the Old Testament prophets; the call to mission and inclusive Church in the New Testament; and the Ignatian charism that came through in the life, love, and teaching of Rui.”

Dr Roland Coelho, SJ
Provincial, Goa Jesuit Province

“Elegantly edited, this volume provides a precious treasure of biblical essays on a variety of topics which were dear to Fr. Rui and are extremely relevant to our times.”

Dr Henry Pattarumadathil SJ
Dean of Studies, Biblical Faculty
Pontifical Biblical Institute, Rome
